The foundation of KOMPERDELL Started as a small turnery the company grew fast - already in 1928 it employed 50 people - and developed into a leading manufacturer of ski-poles

1933

The company continued to grow Due to the increasing significance of skiing, KOMPERDELL concentrated their efforts more and more on the production of ski-poles and became one of the world's largest ski-pole factories.

1939

The first bamboo poles are introduced to the market and replace the wooden poles which had been used so far.

1948

1956

Toni Sailer is the hero of the Olympics '56 in Cortina He wins Downhill, Giant Slalom and Slalom with the new welded steel-tube poles from KOMPERDELL and keeps in touch with our company long after his professional career has ended.

1970

Production output increases steadily and reaches 150.000 pair.

1983

Our family buys KOMPERDELL. Encouraged by the success of their water-sports company CAMARO Erich and Heide Roiser looked for another challenge andbought KOMPERDELL. From then on KOMPERELL went international andbecame one of the leading companies when it came to know-how and innovative technologies concerning ski- and trekking-poles. Production was transferred to Mondsee/Austria where it still is and provides employment for over 100 locals.

1990

X-light poles made of Carbon fibre as well as new and more efficient suspension systems for poles conquer the market. This decade was dedicated to developing extra light poles for Alpine skiing and mountaineering. With the new suspension systems (Anti-shock on/off) as well as exclusive grip-concepts (contour grip) KOMPERDELL drew a lot of international interest and our poles became one of the most wanted products world-wide.

1997

Thomas Roiser becomes general manager of KOMPERDELL. He grew up in a family dedicated to sports and followed suit enthusiastically. Fully motivated and with the support of a young team of sports enthusiasts he continues with great success what his parents started.

2002

Komperdell PROTECTORS Safety products were the item - optimal protection of torso and arms in combination with state of the art materials and design. Safety - function - and perfect fit in one product, we tackled the task and our tremendous success with these products on the market shows we were right.

2007

Seamless Bonding gloves. The new andrevolutionary seamless bonding system for gloves opens new markets.

2009

XA-10 UNDERWEAR a completely new line of products is introduced to the market - and starts to pick up. Over 3.000 dealers are regular customers of KOMPERDELL.
